Is your house in a flood zone? Click here to find out …

We had extensive flooding here in Salem County this week from tropical storm Nicole.  If you’re wondering if your property is at risk for flooding, here’s a tool you can use to find out.  We just added a new link on our website to FreeFlood.com where you can find valuable information.

FreeFlood.com has a database covering over 100 million U.S. residential addresses.  Simply enter an address and you will instantly see flood zone information for that location, as well as a graphic of the “Flood Risk Meter.”

FreeFlood.com is a valuable tool to check your flood risk if you are looking to move into a new area, or are renting, selling, or buying a residential or commercial property, or to find out if you home’s flood status has changed since you purchased your property, as new flood maps are often released across the country.

Even if your mortgage company does not require flood insurance, or if you’re in an area that is less likely to flood, purchasing flood insurance gives you the peace of mind knowing that you have coverage in the event of a flood.  If you are in a low risk flood area, flood policies are very affordable.  We also have package flood policies that include earthquake and landslide.
